Dialpad is the cloud phone system PeptideClients connects to so every call and every SMS lands on the right client's timeline automatically. Bring your own Dialpad account; PeptideClients reads the events through the Dialpad API, attaches them to the matching client (by caller ID), and writes the AI-transcribed call summary alongside the recording link. The operator app does not become a softphone -- Dialpad's own desktop and mobile apps keep doing what they do best -- but the platform becomes the canonical record of what was said, when, and by whom. Your number, your account, your retention policy. We mirror events; we never sit in the voice path.

Calls on the timeline
Every inbound and outbound call surfaces on the matched client's timeline -- duration, direction, operator, and the link to the recording (when enabled).
SMS in the inbox
Inbound SMS land in the per-client conversation thread; outbound SMS sent from the operator app routes through your Dialpad number with full delivery receipts.
AI-transcribed voicemail + recordings
Dialpad's transcription writes the call summary onto the timeline -- searchable, exportable, never opaque audio that nobody listens to.
Caller-ID matching
Inbound calls and SMS auto-match against client + wholesaler records by phone number. Unmatched calls fall to a queue for assignment.
Per-org credential vault
Your Dialpad API token is stored in Supabase Vault, referenced by id from your org. Never readable through the public API.
Audit on every event
Every connect, disconnect, and credential rotation writes to the per-org audit chain. Operator id, IP, before/after value.

Do I need a Dialpad account?
Yes. You bring your own; the voice + SMS bill comes from Dialpad direct so you keep the audit trail and the rate.
How do I get an API token?
In Dialpad Admin go to Company Settings -> Authentication -> API Keys, mint a token, paste it into PeptideClients integrations. Documented in the Dialpad developer docs linked above.
What about PHI in call recordings?
Recording is opt-in per call in Dialpad; the platform respects that flag. If a recording exists, it is referenced by URL only; we do not copy the audio.
Does it support WhatsApp?
No. WhatsApp goes through Twilio today. Dialpad is for voice + SMS on US/CA numbers.
What happens if Dialpad goes down?
The timeline backfills when the API recovers. Outbound calls and SMS attempted during the outage are queued client-side in the Dialpad app; we will not double-send.
How are opt-outs handled?
Per-client mute applies across SMS senders -- Twilio, Dialpad, and Marketing all respect the same mute state. STOP keyword on Dialpad SMS is honored automatically.
